22 JUNE 2009 "On a short stopover from Tucson Arizona to the Secret Cover Tour show in Austin Texas, the Peter Murphy band dropped by the compound to say hello, eat Tex Mex and drink! Of course Uncle Al Jourgensen (founder and leader of Ministry and who is in the studio now with guitarist Sin Quirin finalizing the new Revolting Cocks release, as yet untitled) immediately put everyone to work in the studio. 07 MARCH 2009 The highly anticipated Mob Research album 'Holy City Zoo' will be released on Echozone records in Europe and through Code 7 in the UK on 25 May. A US release will be announced soon. The band - featuring the late Paul Raven (Killing Joke/Ministry) on bass, MGT on guitars, Kory Clarke (Warrior Soul) on vocals and Nick Lucero (ex QOTSA/The Flys/Peter Murphy) on drums - have also lauched their official website at www.mobresearchinc.com. Mob Research is the bastard offspring of Raven and guitarist MarkGT. Both born and bred in the Midlands UK, the pair first jammed back in 1989 then went their separate ways, crossing paths occasionally over the years before reuniting in Los Angeles in spring 2007 to collaborate on Mob Research. Sadly Paul Raven passed away in his sleep in late 2007, leaving MGT and Kory Clarke to complete vocals and overdubs. 10 MARCH 2009 MGT is set to make a surprise appearance with Peter Murphy and band at this year's South By South West (SxSW) festival on Thrusday 19th March at Elysium in downtown Austin, Texas. The band will be performing a full set of brand new songs taken from Peter's forthcoming (as yet unreleased) studio album, recorded by the live band lineup of MGT, Jeff Schartoff and Nick Lucero plus John Andrews. 28 FEBRUARY 2009 The highly anticipated "Final Chapter" - Live at Shepherds Bush Empire 3 x DVD set is released by SPV and available at all major online retailers. The DVD will play on all regions (region free). The video features The Missions final performance on 1st March 2008 over 2 DVDs, plus a third DVD of interviews, on teh road and rehearsal footage, featuring Wayne Hussey, Mark Gemini Thwaite and the band. In addition, the Shepherds Bush 'Live & Last' 2 x CD set is also available on Eyes Wide Shut recordings. Here's what Mission frontman Wayne Hussey had to say about the release: "I met up with George Allen (Mission manager) and he gave me a copy of the rough edit DVD of the last night we played at Shepherds Bush back on March 1st 2008. I have to totally concur with George and say that I am over the moon with it. It's a fantastic performance, both by the band and by you, the audience. And it is filmed so well and sounds really great. I am sure you're all gonna be as delighted with it as we are... 12 JANUARY 2009 MarkGT will be at the ProTone booth at the NAMM show, Anaheim Convention Center in California this Saturday 17th at 4pm. MGT, who recently recorded new albums with Bauhaus legend Peter Murphy and Mob Research - the band Mark formed in 2007 with the late Paul Raven - will be demoing the new Raven 'Dirty Chorus' stompbox and the Peligro Fuzz pedal. Here's what the DG guys had to say: "We are all thoroughly thrilled by the kindness and support "THE MISSION" lads have lent us by their cooperation on 3 of the songs. To start off with the one and only WAYNE HUSSEY sings (as only he can) with CARLO on "Isolation". MARK GEMINI THWAITE lends his wonderfully unique guitar riffs and solos to "Pristine". And RICHIE VERNON lays down a gorgeous bass tapestry on "Blue".Thank you guys, we are immensely chuffed.." 26th JULY 2008 Mark's latest collaborations with UK artist TRICKY can be heard on the brand new studio album 'Knowle West Boy'. This is the eighth studio album by the maverick UK artist, and the third full length album release to include guitars by MGT since he started performing with Tricky in 1998. Named after Tricky's place of birth in England (Knowle West), the album is a personal rediscovery of sounds and influences. 30TH NOVEMBER 2007 Peter Murphy announced three special shows in Portugal and Spain, including a 7,000 capacity sold out concert at Gaia Pavilion in Oporto, reuniting with guitarist MarkGT, bassist Jeff Schwartoff (PMM/Human Waste Project) and drummer Nick Lucero (ex Queens of the Stone Age/The Flys). Mark and Jeff previously toured USA and Europe with Peter in 2005 to promote the 'Unshattered' album. Dates and more information below. 22ND OCTOBER 2007 The body of Paul Raven — who played bass for seminal post-punk/ industrial outfit Killing Joke before later working with Ministry, Prong, Godflesh and most recently Mob Research with Mark Gemini Thwaite — was discovered Saturday 20th October in a home in Geneva, Switzerland. Early indications are that Paul, 46, died of a heart attack whilst asleep. Raven was in Geneva working with French industrial band Treponem Pal, who are reuniting for a new album with singer Marco Neves and Prong/Jesu drummer Ted Parsons. Raven was to return to the USA a week later to continue work on the Mob Research debut album 'Holy City Zoo'. Paul was a great friend to Mark and Mission founder Wayne Hussey and a legendary bass player. We shall all miss Paul incredibly. Our condolences go to Paul's family and friends at this time. Wayne Hussey: "Raven was one of the good guys. He became a good friend of Mick Brown first and then gradually I got to know him and we got on very well. He was always encouraging, loved music, talking about it and playing it. The last time I heard from him was a month or so ago. Ironically he emailed me to tell me that it was 'a very nice thing to do to post a news message on MWIS about the death of a fan (Ashira)'. He also went onto say that he loved the idea of the Shepherds Bush shows and was gonna try to get to at least one or two of them. I shall miss him. I liked him a lot." Mark Gemini Thwaite: "Although I'd known Paul for nearly 20 years, I had really gotten much closer to him as we started work on Mob Research earlier this year. He was so excited about the future of the band and we hoped to have the record out by Spring 2008.. His enthusiam and determination to make things happen was infectious and I shall miss him greatly. His sense of humour was priceless and, both hailing from the same part of the midlands in England, we shared many a brummie and black country joke together.. His last words to me - just a couple of days before he died - were 'Stay Positive'. That says it all about Paul.. the rock world has lost one of its most shining sons, may he have gone to a better place".
